About Me

I have always identified myself as a photographer. My dad was a filmmaker and producer, and he often encouraged my sisters and I to use his equipment. What started out as producing silly informercials and skits with my best friend at the ripe age of 6, later sparked a passion within myself. My camera has since fused to my hand, and I see it as an extension of me.

In 2007, I was hired as a wedding photographer, editor and office manager for Bray Danielle Photography. I worked directly under Danielle for the next 8 years, learning the ends and outs of the wedding industry, how to run a small business, and improving my photography skills. I was taught more than just how to take a decent picture. I was encouraged to push the limits and create works of art. I was trained to pay very close attention to detail and not be afraid to try new things. These skills I have acquired allow me to excel in my craft.

In 2015, I decided to do a total makeover on my life. I left BDP to pursue my original love, cinematography. I now currently work as a filmmaker, editor, and studio manager for Montoto Productions in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I am proud to follow in my father’s footsteps, using the passion he instilled in me to create beautiful wedding films for my clients. I am incredibly fortunate to work along with some of the best cinematographers in Louisiana. I am so thirsty to learn new things and build my skill level, and the MP staff is always pushing the envelope.

When I am not working a wedding (which doesn’t happen often!) I am off exploring the world with my wonderful husband, James. In my downtime, you can find me vegging out, watching netflix with my cat, Judy, and my blind miniature dachshund, Jimmy Dean Sausage, or at the bar with friends. I love traveling, hiking, kayaking, good company, renovating my house, bar trivia, and live music.

Now that you know about me, contact me at gabriellechampion@gmail.com to connect with me and tell me your story. I look forward to reading it.
